First Commonwealth Bank Supporting Training Project

“First Commonwealth Bank recognizes the impact energy efficiency has on housing, family budgets, and the health and safety of the homeowners / tenants,” stated Dave Reed, FCB’s Senior Vice-President / Regional President. “First Commonwealth also realizes the need for skilled workers able to accurately test and evaluate energy usage and safety-related issues within homes. First Commonwealth sees this job-training project as an opportunity to provide skilled labor and jobs in the local area, while helping families save money and improve their living conditions. We are proud to assist Community Action, Inc. and their partners with this $10,000 donation towards establishing this job-training project,” added Reed. Community Action, Inc., in partnership with the PA CareerLink and Workforce Solutions for North Central PA, has announced a work experience / job-training opportunity for an individual to learn home-energy savings skills. “This project will provide basic testing procedures for determining the energy efficiency within homes; how to analyze results and recommend cost effective or safety improvements; and how to install or perform measures to improve energy efficiency,” stated Susan Fusco, Community Action, Inc. Executive Director. “In addition to reducing energy waste, saving residents utility expenses, and reducing the impact on the environment, many energy saving measures address health and safety issues in the home,” advised Fusco. Individuals interested in participating in a work experience / job training project to learn how to perform energy efficiency testing and installation and how to become an independent, self-sufficient business owner should contact Susan K. Fusco at Community Action, Inc. (814) 938-3302, ext. 219 or [email protected].
