“STUFF THE CRUISER” for Toys for Tots

The Punxsutawney Borough Police, Community Action, Inc.’s Senior Corps-RSVP Project, and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve challenge you to “STUFF THE CRUISER” for Toys for Tots of Jefferson County. Punxsutawney Borough Police Officers will be accepting new, unwrapped toys to brighten a child’s Christmas from Saturday, December 1 through Wednesday, December 14th at the Borough Police Station, Mahoning Street Civic Center, 301 East Mahoning Street, Punxsutawney, PA. If a police officer is not at the station when you arrive, you will need to contact (814) 849-1617 and ask for a police to be dispatched to the station to accept the donation. The Officers’ goal is to stuff a police cruiser with new toys to serve approximately 500 Jefferson County children, age birth to 16, this year through the Toys for Tots Program. Punxsutawney Borough Police Chief, Matt Conrad states, “Being a Veteran, I am a strong supporter of military programs and helping local families in need. Each year, we have “Shop with a Cop” but wanted to expand our assistance and partner with a local organization to reach more children.” Senior Corps-RSVP Director, Samantha Schrecengost reminds everyone, “It really does take the help of area residents, volunteers, and local businesses to have a successful toy distribution and serve so many families in need.” “If you are looking for other ways to assist Toys for Tots,” Schrecengost adds, “you can place a new, unwrapped toy in a Toys for Tots box at local businesses throughout Jefferson County, attend one of the benefit events listed below, or make a monetary donation to Community Action, Inc., ATTN: Toys for Tots, 105 Grace Way, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.” Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at The Burrow, 108 North Findley Street, Punxsutawney, PA December 8, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jefferson County Housing Authority Social Hall, 201 North Jefferson Street, Punxsutawney, PA If you need additional information or want to help with Toys for Tots activities, contact Community Action, Inc. at 814-938-3302, or [email protected].
