Community Action, Inc. announced Norma Broderick of Leeper was selected to be the Clarion County Senior Corps-RSVP Volunteer of the Month for April. Norma has been a member of the Senior Corps-RSVP since August 2009 volunteering for Clarion Area Agency on Aging's Leeper Senior Social Center. Her duties include helping to prepare food, serving meals and cleaning up after a full day of activities. When asked why she volunteers Norma stated, "I started attending the Center shortly after I moved to this area from Erie, PA. I was lost for company and a friend encouraged me to attend the Center, everyone was very welcoming. I started to attend and volunteer on a regular basis. I enjoy volunteering, it keeps me active. I enjoy the people I meet and helping those in need.” When Norma is not volunteering, she enjoys creating new recipes, playing cards and dominos, sewing and spending time with her family. Norma attends the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Crown, PA. Community Action, Inc.'s Senior Corps-RSVP is very proud to have Norma as a member. She depicts the true spirit of volunteering and is dedicated to making a difference in people's lives.
