Community Action, Inc. announced Georjean Brady of Punxsutawney was selected to be the Jefferson County Senior Corps-RSVP Volunteer of the Month for February. Georjean has been a member of the Senior Corps-RSVP since June 2001 volunteering for the Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging’s Pine Street Senior Social Center helping with secretarial duties, taking reservations and assisting seniors. Georjean also helps with the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Annual Christmas Campaign, the Senior Corps-RSVP Warm Hands-Warm Hearts Project, the American Red Cross monthly fundraisers and serves as treasurer and floor monitor at Mahoning Towers. In addition, Georjean assists the Senior Corps-RSVP Project with special events as needed. When asked why she volunteers Georjean stated, "I like the people and helping others. Volunteering keeps me active. I have met a lot of different people while volunteering and I enjoy doing what I can to help those who need it.” When Georjean is not volunteering, she enjoys crocheting and spending time with her family.
